First trip since 12/2/15. Headed out with Larry and Jack to do a little fishing and some birding. Little fishing was right, as things were very slow. Judging by the radio chatter most boats has slow fishing as well. Only managed 7 Skipjack Tuna and a large Porgy that lost the tail to a cuda. Even bait was tough. Birding was OK, with 40+ Brown Booby, 30+Audubon’s Shearwater, 2 Pomarine Jaegers, and 3 Parasitic Jaegers attacking terns at the same time. They looked like a small squadron of fighter planes working as a team. If you look close at the photo of the two jaegers taking off, you can see the pointed tail streamers indicative of Parasitic.
